Widows in Need (W.I.N)

Supporting widowed families so their children can stay in school.

Children from very poor widowed families do not perform well at school because of hunger, missing school logistics and many other reasons. Our long-term goal is to empower these widows by establishing them in their trades and vocations — which helps us educate their children too.

Understanding the root cause

Foundation Elevators maintain that we cannot achieve our Sustainable Development Goals of helping children and young people have free minds to successfully go through education without understanding the root cause. According to research, children from really poor widowed families do not perform well at school due to issues like hunger, school logistics, and many other reasons. This, in the long run, will negatively affect these children, families and the community.

Our long-term goal is to someday empower these widows in our communities by establishing them in their trades and vocations, thus helping us achieve a wonderful balance of educating their children too.

W.I.N 2021

On Monday, 27 December 2021, Foundation Elevators made their way to Abiriw Township in the Okere District of the Eastern Region of Ghana. The main purpose of W.I.N 2021 was to support twenty widowed families, and Foundation Elevators were able to provide them with a six-month supply of groceries — bags of rice, sugar, oil, canned tomatoes and canned fish.
